The Bay Stealth 2230 is one of those legendary platforms. This isn't a fragile, high-gloss showpiece; it’s a rugged, heavy-duty fishing machine built by VIP with a reputation for being one of the driest, most stable rides in the 22-foot class.

Here is why this particular model remains a staple on the Gulf Coast and beyond:

The Hull That Defined an Era

The 2230 is famous for its shallow draft without sacrificing big-water capability. It features a wide beam that provides an incredibly stable fishing platform—you can put three grown men on one side of the boat to net a fish, and she barely tips. The signature hull design pushes spray out and down, keeping your passengers dry even when the afternoon chop kicks up.

Key Specifications & Features

    •    Length: 22' 3"

    •    Beam: A generous 8' 6" for maximum deck space.

    •    Hull Design: Tunnel hull or semi-V (depending on the specific sub-model), optimized for getting into "skinny" water where the trophies hide.

    •    Storage: Massive forward casting deck with integrated rod lockers and dry storage.

    •    Livewells: Standard dual-aerated livewell setup, perfect for keeping bait fresh and the catch of the day healthy.

Why This Boat Makes Sense Right Now

In today’s market, everyone is looking for versatility. The 2230 is a "cross-over" before that was even a marketing term:

    •    For the Angler: The low profile and clean decks make it a dream for fly fishing or throwing topwaters.

    •    For the Family: There’s enough cockpit depth to feel secure, and the sheer size of the 22-foot deck means you aren't tripping over coolers during a sandbar day.

    •    Durability: These boats were overbuilt. In an era where some manufacturers were cutting corners, VIP used heavy fiberglass layups that feel "planted" in the water.
